Abstract

A. Exports

  • The value of Jakarta’s exports in December 2024 reached US$1,399.15 million, which increased 4.25 percent compared to exports in November 2024 and rose by 50.35 percent compared to December 2023.
  • Oil and gas exports reached US$ 3.60 million, which increased by 40.98 percent compared to November 2024, and rose by 262.64 percent compared to exports in December 2023.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in December 2024 reached US$ 1,395.55 million, which increased 4.18 percent compared to November 2024 and rose 50.12 percent compared to December 2023.
  • The most significant export increase in main commodities December 2024 compared to November 2024 was precious metals and jewellery/precious stones at US$ 67.48 million (53.13 percent). Meanwhile, the largest decrease in the export value of leading commodities was footwear at US$ 12.84 million (minus 4.66 percent).
  • By industry classification, non-oil and gas exports from the agriculture sector declined by 17.42 percent compared to November 2024. Meanwhile, the export value of mining and other and manufacturing industry exports has showed a positive growth by 205.26 percent and 5.13 percent, respectively.
  • The largest exports in December 2024 were to United States, in the amount of US$ 204.17 million, followed by China at US$ 177.74 million and Thailand at US$ 119.90 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 35.86 percent.

B. Imports

  • Imports of Jakarta in December 2024 were worth US$ 7,156.69 million, which rose by 2.64 percent compared with November 2024, or rose by 19.71 percent compared with December 2023.
  • Imports of oil and gas in December 2024 were worth US$ 265.19 million, which rose by 8.93 percent compared to November 2024 and rose by 28.53 percent compared to December 2023.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in December 2024 were worth US$ 6,891.50 million, which rose by 2.41 percent compared to November 2024 and rose by 19.39 percent compared to December 2023.
  • The most significant import rise in December 2024 was electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof by US$ 76.15 million (10.39 percent) compared to November 2024. On the contrary, the import of vehicles and accessories thereof experienced the highest decline by US$ 81.15 million (minus 11.55 percent) in December 2024.
  • Based on the classification of Broad Economic Categories (BEC), import value of consumption goods in December 2024 increased by US$ 143.42 million (14.92 percent), followed by intermediate goods by US$ 49.14 million (1.17 percent). Meanwhile, the import of capital goods decreased by US$ 8.47 million (minus 0.47 percent).
  • The largest trading partner countries imports in December 2024 were China with US$ 3,156.38 million (44.10 percent), Japan with US$ 722.97 million (10.10 percent), and Thailand with US$ 502.52 million (7.02 percent).
