Abstract

  • Jakarta’s export value in February 2024 reached US$ 772.91 million, or a decreased by 7.22 percent compared to January 2024. Compared to February 2023, the export value decreased by 16.10 percent.
  • Oil and gas exports were US$ 2.97 million, dropped 69.07 percent compared to January 2024, and rose 132.31 percent compared to exports in February 2023.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in February 2024 were valued at US$ 769.94 million, which decreased 6.50 percent compared to January 2024, and fell 16.30 percent compared to February 2023.
  • The commodities with the largest decline compared to January 2024 were fish, crustaceans and mollusks amounting to US$30.41 million (minus 24.92 percent). Meanwhile, the largest increase was in precious metals and jewelry/precious stones, amounting to US$ 15.04 million (44.46 percent).
  • By sector, non-oil and gas exports from the processing industry in February 2024 fell 18.67 percent compared to the same month in 2023. Mining and other exports also fell by 62.51 percent, while agricultural, forestry, and fisheries exports rose by 38.50 percent.
  • The largest exports in February 2024 were to China, namely US$ 127.53 million, followed by the United States, US$79.20 million, and Philippines, US$ 77.61 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 36.7 percent.
  • Cumulative exports in February 2024 amounted to US$ 1.61 billion, which fell 12.51 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
  • Imports of Jakarta in February 2024 were worth US$ 5,744.56 million, which decreased by 5.09 percent compared with January 2024, or increased by 3.51 percent compared to February 2023.
  • Imports of oil and gas in February 2024 were worth US$ 222.07 million, which increased by 13.13 percent compared to January 2024 and increased by 50.22 percent compared to February 2023.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in February 2024 were worth US$ 5,5522.49 million, which fell by 5.70 percent compared to January 2024 and rose by 2.23 percent compared to February 2023.
  • The most significant import increase in February 2024 was vehicles and accessories thereof, which rose by US$ 62.87 million (12.96 percent). On the contrary, cereals experienced the highest decrease by US$ 47.16 million (minus 32.54 percent).
  • Based on the broad economic categories classification, compared with January 2024, imports of consumption goods in February 2024 increased by US$ 15.41 million (2.00 percent). On the contrary, the import of intermediate goods decreased by US$ 240.55 million (minus 6.35 percent), followed by capital goods by US$ 82.89 million (minus 5.55 percent).
  • The largest trading partner countries imports in January-February 2024 were China with US$ 4,756.92 million (40.32 percent), Japan with US$ 1.237.12 million (10.49 percent), and Thailand with US$ 1,007.63 million (8.54 percent).
