Abstract

  • The value of Jakarta’s export in April 2024 reached US$ 805.04 million, decreased 29.42 percent compared to exports in March 2024 and rose by 21.05 percent compared to April 2023.
  • Oil and gas exports reached US$ 3.04 million, increased 3.81 percent compared to March 2024, and rose 51.86 percent compared to exports in April 2023.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in April 2024 reached US$802.00 million, decreased 29.50 percent compared to March 2024 and increased 20.96 percent compared to April 2023.
  • The commodities with the largest decrease  compared to March 2024 were miscellaneous chemical products, amounting to US$ 25.06 million (61.65 percent). The decrease in exports occurred in all the ten main export commodities.
  • By industry classification, non-oil and gas exports from the manufacturing industry in April 2024 rose by 20.93 percent compared to the same month in 2023. Agriculture exports also rose 21.75 percent, while mining and other exports decrease by 43.87 percent.
  • The largest exports in April 2024 were to India, in amount of US$ 113.64 million, followed by the China at US$ 111.22 million and Singapore at US$ 92.62 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 39.44 percent.
  • The cumulative exports in January-April 2024 amounted to US$ 3.55 billion, increased by 1.86 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
  • Imports of Jakarta in April 2024 were worth US$ 4,846.44 million, which decreased by 10.93 percent compared with March 2024, or decreased by 0.61 percent compared to April 2023.
  • Imports of oil and gas in April 2024 were worth US$ 268.93 million, which increased by 4.60 percent compared to March 2024 and increased by 48.52 percent compared to April 2023.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in April 2024 were worth US$ 4,577.51 million, which fell by 11.70 percent compared to March 2024 and fell by 2.50 percent compared to April 2023.
  • The most significant import increase in April 2024 was mineral fuels, which rose by US$ 11.32 million (4.32 percent). On the contrary, iron and steel experienced the highest decrease by US$ 110.21 million (minus 31.56 percent).
  • Based on the classification of Broad Economic Categories (BEC), compared with March 2024, imports of intermediate goods in April 2024 decreased by US$ 431.53 million (minus 12.00 percent), followed by consumption goods by US$ 134.80 million (minus 18.42 percent) and the import of capital goods by US$ 28.10 million (minus 2.53 percent).
  • The largest trading partner countries imports in January-April 2024 were China with US$ 8,298.23 million (37.57 percent), Japan with US$ 2,370.49 million (10.73 percent), and Thailand with US$ 1,842.17 million (8.34 percent).
