Abstract

  • Jakarta’s export value in December 2023 reached US$931.62 million, dropped 6.51 percent compared to exports in November 2023. Compared to December 2022, the export value fell 4.33 percent.
  • The export value of Oil and gas exports in December 2023 was US$0.99 million, fell 30.11 percent compared to November 2023 or dropped 67.87 percent compared to December 2022.
  • Nonoil and gas exports in December 2023 were valued at US$930.63 million, down 6.47 percent compared to November 2023 or down 4.13 percent compared to December 2022.
  • Jakarta’s export value from January to December 2023 reached US$11.08 billion or dropped 3.71 percent compared to the same period in 2022. Meanwhile nonoil and gas exports reached US$11.05 billion or fell 3.64 percent.
  • According to main commodities, exports of seven main commodities declined in December 2023. The commodity with the deepest decline compared to November 2023 was Vehicles and accessories thereof with a value of US$200.13 million, which fell by 24.00 percent.
  • Export to the seven main export destination countries declined compared to November 2023. The three countries with the deepest decline were Japan US$39.15 million (minus 30.83 percent), followed by Thailand US$41.40 million (minus 27.03 percent), and Singapore US$69.83 million (minus 20.96 percent). According to the main destination countries, exports decreased in seven main countries compared to December 2022. The deepest decline in exports occurred in the Philippines, reaching 35.36 percent.
  • Compared to December 2022, export of seven main commodities group declined. Vehicles and accessories thereof has the deepest decline, falling by 31.10 percent.
  • Imports of Jakarta in December 2023 were worth US$ 5,978.38 million, decreased by 8.39 percent compared with November 2023, and fell by 8.19 percent compared to December 2022.
  • Imports of oil and gas in December 2023 were worth US$ 206.33 million, which decreased by 8.37 percent compared to November 2023 and increased by 45.52 percent compared to December 2022.
  • Imports of nonoil and gas in December 2023 were worth US$ 5,772.05 million, which fell  by 8.39 percent compared to November 2023, and fell by 9.39 percent compared to December 2022.
  • The most significant import increase in December 2023 was cereals, which rose by US$ 91.77 million (70.13 percent). On the contrary, vehicles and accessories thereof experienced the highest decrease by US$ 161.70 million (minus 26.15 percent).
  • Based on the broad economic categories classification, compared with November 2023, imports of consumption goods in December 2023 increased by US$ 8.35 million (0.91 percent). On the contrary, the import of intermediate goods decreased by US$ 433.94 million (minus 10.73 percent), followed by consumption goods by US$ 121.59 million (minus 7.79 percent).
  • The largest trading partner countries imports in January-December 2023 were China with US$ 26,412.58 million (34.91 percent), Japan US$ 9.833.02 million (13.00 percent), and Thailand US$ 6,198.28 million (8.19 percent).
