Abstract

The value of Jakarta’s exports in July 2024 reached US$1,165.02 million, which increased 6.89 percent compared to exports in June 2024 and rose by 30.01 percent compared to July 2023.
Oil and gas exports reached US$3.34 million, increased 47.35 percent compared to June 2024, and rose 187.40 percent compared to exports in July 2023.
Non-oil and gas exports in July 2024 reached US$1,161.68 million, which increased 6,81 percent compared to June 2024 and 29.81 percent compared to July 2023.
The main commodities with the largest increase compared to June 2024 were machinery and mechanical appliances and part thereof to US$28.27 million (41.72 percent). The increase in exports occurred in seven main export commodities
By industry classification, non-oil and gas exports from the manufacturing industry and agriculture rose by 30.32 percent and 15.51 percent compared to the same month in 2023, respectively. Meanwhile, mining and other exports decreased by 6.30 percent.
The largest exports in July 2024 were to China, in the amount of US$133.22 million, followed by the Singapore at US$101.23 million and Malaysia at US$90.01 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 27.86 percent.
The cumulative exports in January-July 2024 amounted to US$6,835.00 million which increased by 10.23 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

Imports of Jakarta in July 2024 were worth US$7,251.29 million, which rose by 19.82 percent compared with June 2024, or rose by 6.57 percent compared with July 2023.
Imports of oil and gas in July 2024 were worth US$263.28 million, which rose by 2.53 percent compared to June 2024 and rose by 62.81 percent compared to July 2023.
Imports of non-oil and gas in July 2024 were worth US$6,988.01 million, which rose by 20.59 percent compared to June 2024 and rose by 5.20 percent compared to July 2023.
The most significant import increase in July 2024 was iron and steel, which rose by US$144.81 million (54.69 percent).
Based on the classification of Broad Economic Categories (BEC), compared with June 2024, imports of intermediate goods in July 2024 increased by US$888.84 million, followed by capital goods in July 2024 increased by US$161.64 million (10.69 percent), and consumption goods increased by US$149.12 million (19.36 percent).
The largest trading partner countries imports in July 2024 were China with US$2,978.92 million (41.08 percent), Japan with US$789.56 million (10.89 percent), and Thailand with US$602,96 million (8.32 percent).
