Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in January 2025 was 0.14 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.10.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in most expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 3.57 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1,21 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 2.49 percent; Health Group of 1.63 percent; Transport Group of 0.80 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 0.36 percent; Education Group of 2.55 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 2.55 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 8.32 percent. Meanwhile, the price index of Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group fell by 8.83 percent and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group recorded a deflation of 0.14 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in January 2025 was 1.50 percent, and year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation in January 2025 was 1.50 percent.
