Jakarta’s Economic Growth Quarter I-2024

Abstract

Jakarta’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2024 (Q1-2024) reached IDR 896.09 trillion at current prices and IDR 528.10 trillion at 2010 constant prices.
Jakarta’s economy grew by 4.78 percent in Q1-2024 compared to the same quarter in the previous year (y-on-y). Based on industry, Public Administration and Defense; Compulsory Social Security attained the highest growth of 14.16 percent. Based on expenditure, the highest growth was attained by General Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GGFCE) of 30.30 percent.
Jakarta’s economy grew by 0.65 percent (q-to-q) compared to the previous quarter (Q4-2023). Based on industry, Public Administration and Defense; Compulsory Social Security experienced the highest growth by 6.86 percent. Based on expenditure, NPISHs Final Consumption Expenditure (NPISHs FCE) attained the highest growth of 3.81 percent.
In Q1-2024, Jakarta’s economic structure was dominated by Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles industry with 17.91 percent contribution to the total economy. Meanwhile, the largest contributor from expenditure side was Household Final Consumption Expenditure (HFCE) component at 61.87 percent of the total economy
