Jakarta’s Current Labor Force Condition in February 2024

Abstract

Based on the National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS), the number of the labour force in Jakarta in February 2024 was 5.43 million people, which rose by 179 thousand compared to February 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate went up by 2.10 percentage points.
Jakarta’s employed population was 5.11 million, which increased by 249 thousand people from February 2023. The employment sector that experienced the most significant worker increase was accommodation and food service activities. The working population in this sector increased by 136 thousand people.
There were 1.84 million people (36.06 %) working in formal sector. The number rose by 1.28 percentage points compared to February 2023.
The number of non-full-time workers increased by 199 thousand people, or 22.85 percent, compared to February 2023.
Jakarta’s unemployment rate in February 2024 was 6.03 percent, dropped by 1.54 percentage points compared to February 2023.
