Imports in October reached US$ 6.21 billion, increasing 8.94 percent compared to September 2023

Abstract

Imports of Jakarta in October 2023 were worth US$ 6,209.78 million, increased by 8.94 percent compared with September 2023, and fell by 2.89 percent compared to October 2022.

Imports of oil and gas in October 2023 were worth US$ 187.22 million, which increased by 44.60 percent compared to September 2023 and decreased by 21.28 percent compared to October 2022.

Imports of non-oil and gas in October were worth US$ 6,022.56 million, which increased by 8.12 percent compared to September 2023, and decreased by 2.18 percent compared to October 2022.

The most significant import increase in October 2023 was mineral fuels, which rose by US$ 56.23 million (41.74 percent). On the contrary, optical, photographic, cinematographic, medical instruments experienced the highest decrease by US$ 9.61 million (minus 7.01 percent).

Based on the broad economic categories classification, compared with September 2023, imports of intermediate goods in October 2023 increased by US$ 478.68 million (13.71 percent), followed by consumption goods by US$ 33.61 million (4.18 percent), while capital goods fell by US$ 2.45 million (minus 0.17 percent).

The largest trading partner countries imports in January-October 2023 were China with US$ 21,764.00 million (34.46 percent), Japan US$ 8.373.27 million (13.26 percent), and Thailand US$ 5,238.09 million (8.29 percent).
