Imports in September reached US$ 5,69 billion, decreasing 16.08 percent compared to August 2023

Abstract

Import

Imports of Jakarta in September 2023 were worth US$ 5,699.95 million, decreased by 16.08 percent compared with August 2023, and fell by 13.26 percent compared to September 2022.
Imports of oil and gas in September 2023 were worth US$ 129.47 million, which decreased by 35.00 percent compared to August 2023 and decreased by 61.90 percent compared to September 2022.
Imports of non-oil and gas in September were worth US$ 5,570.48 million, which decreased by 15.51 percent compared to August 2023, and decreased by 10.61 percent compared to September 2022.
The most significant import decrease in September 2023 was mineral fuels, which fell by US$ 68.24 million (minus 33.62 percent). On the contrary, rubber and articles thereof experienced the highest increase by US$ 4.96 million (4.77 percent).
The largest trading partner countries imports in January-September 2023 were China with US$ 19,643.34 million (34.49 percent), Japan US$ 7.478.80 million (13.13 percent), and Thailand US$ 4,683.06 million (8.22 percent).
Based on the broad economic categories classification, compared with July 2023, imports of consumption goods in September 2023 decreased by US$ 166.80 million (minus 17.20 percent), followed by imports of intermediate goods by US$ 724.71 million (minus 17.19 percent), and imports of capital goods by US$ 200.63 million (minus 12.49 percent).
