Abstract
Prices of a number of goods and
services in Jakarta were observed to creep up after the increase in
fuel oil (BBM) prices. This caused the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to soar
sharply. Therefore, inflation during September 2022 was recorded as
the highest inflation in the last eight years. Jakarta experienced
inflation of 1.21 percent, 1.32 percentage point higher than last
month which experienced deflation of 0.11 percent. The main contributors
to inflation this time were gasoline (0.772 percent), city
transportation services (0.079 percent), filter kretek
cigarettes (0.026 percent), and air freight services (0.025 percent).
Meanwhile, commodity prices of foodstuffs and processed
foods also increased significantly and contributed to
high inflation this month.
