Increasing Mobility, Economy of Jakarta Continues a Positive Trend

Release Date : August 5, 2022
File Size : 6.26 MB

Abstract

The economic restitution of Jakarta continued in the second quarter of 2022. The escalation of public activities during Ramadhan, Eid, Easter, and national and international events held in Jakarta have become the main drivers of economic growth. In addition, religious holiday allowances (THR) became a positive stimulant for rising public demand and positively affected economic growth. However, recent conflicts in the European region affected the global economy, including Jakarta. The higher production costs caused by the increase in energy prices due to supply disruptions drove the rise of commodity prices. This cause then holds the economy to grow faster.
The economy of Jakarta in the second quarter of 2022 grew by 5,59 percent compared to the same quarter in the previous year. On the demand side, all expenditure components grew positively, except for Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GFCE). On the supply side, the top three sectors with the highest growth are Health Services and Social Activities, Other Services, and Trade.
