DEVELOPMENT OF CONSUMER PRICE INDEX/INFLATION DKI JAKARTA MARCH 2016

In March 2016, prices in DKI Jakarta experienced 0.15 percent inflation. The inflation rate in 2016 reached 0.32 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate for DKI Jakarta was 3.62 percent.

     Inflation that occurred in March was caused by rising prices in the clothing category. Five expenditure groups experienced an increase in index/inflation, namely the clothing group 0.93 percent; food ingredients group 0.74 percent; health group 0.49 percent; processed food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group 0.19 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, two other groups experienced a decrease in index/deflation, namely the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.45 percent; and 0.07 percent housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel groups.
