The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) carried out the 2023 Agricultural Census Alert Call (ST2023) on the Courtyard of Building 3 BPS this morning (30/5) as a symbol of BPS readiness to carry out a census every ten years. As a form of support for the implementation of ST2023, Apel Siaga ST2023 was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Communication and Informatics.
In the apple address, Main Secretary of BPS, Atqo Mardiyanto conveyed the importance of the ST2023 results data. And most importantly, the ST2023 data is expected to be a reference in formulating strategic policies for the agricultural sector, thereby increasing the quality of the formulated policy designs, he emphasized. Especially during the Declaration of Implementation of ST2023 by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on May 15, 2023, it was stated that agriculture is a strategic sector and involves the lives of many people. So the President emphasized the need for accurate ST2023 data to produce policy accuracy.
Apart from reading the pledge as a form of readiness for all BPS employees to succeed in the implementation of ST2023 which began on 1 June 2023 to 31 July 2023, BPS leadership and representatives of ministries/agencies also carried out tree planting during the Standby Apple. Through tree planting, we can plant hope for the world of agriculture, which in the last two years has consistently made a positive contribution to national growth. Our hope is that the future of agriculture and the welfare of farmers in Indonesia will continue to grow like the tree we will plant this morning, said Atqo.
