Abstract

 The number of labor force in Jakarta based on the National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) August 2023 was 5.43 million people, rose by 174 thousand people compared to August 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate, hence, went up by 2.13 percentage points.
  • Jakarta employed population was 5.07 million people, increased by 197 thousand people from August 2022. The economic sector, which experienced greater advantage from this situation, was Manufacturing by 61 thousand people.
    • There were 3.23 million people (63,77 %) working in formal sector. The number rose by 0.65 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The under unemployment rate rose by 0.25 percentage points, while the part-time workers decreased by 2.7 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • Jakarta’s unemployment rate in August 2023 was 6.53 percent, dropped by 0.65 percentage points compared to August 2022.
