Jakarta Foreign Tourists Arrivals Rose in May 2022

Abstract

In the fifth month of 2022, the interest of foreign tourists coming to Jakarta continues rising. The number of foreign tourists visiting Jakarta in May 2022 more than tripled compared to the same month in 2021. The pandemic in the control stage and the expansion of visa on arrival (VoA) positively responded to the number of foreign tourist arrivals.

The number of tourists arriving from the Middle East region more than doubled compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, based on nationality, the most significant number of foreign toursits visits in Jakarta came from Malaysia, with 6,594 arrivals or 11.4 percent of all foreign tourist arrivals.
