Hospitality Industry in Jakarta Almost Recover

The year 2021 was closed with optimism that the hotel industry in Jakarta is getting better. The development of the hospitality industry indicators as indicated by the room occupancy rate (TPK) and the average length of stay of guests (RLMT) sent a positive signal along with the cancellation of the discourse on the Enforcement of Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 3 for the Christmas and New Year period as well as the increase in Meeting Incentive Conference and Exhibition (MICE) activities by the government. Jakarta star hotels occupancy rate attained 58.8 percent in December 2021, or increased by 13.4 percentage points compared to the previous year (y-on-y). At the same time, the RLMT indicator reached 2.10 days, or increased 0.11 days (y-on-y).
