Reaching 1 Billion Dollars, Jakarta’s Exports Hits The Highest Level During the Pandemic

Jakarta - Statistics of DKI Jakarta recorded that the value of Jakarta’s exports in June 2021 reached US$ 1 billion, an increase of 39,9 percent compared to last month and became the highest during the COVID-19 pandemic. When compared to the same month last year, exports also increased by 45,4 percent. This increase shows that Jakarta’s economy is getting more robust in the pandemic.

The increase in export value, was due to the return of normal export activity after the Hari Raya and an increase in exports of ten main commodities in June. The increase in total exports of ten main commodities in June compared to the previous month reached 48,1 percent. Pearls, precious and semi-precious stone was the main commodity with the highest increase in exports. Exports of this commodity rose to 124,2 percent and were the highest increase in the last six months.
