Poverty in DKI Jakarta Increases Again

The number of poor people in the capital city of Jakarta in September 2020 again increased to 496.84 thousand people or 4.69 percent of the total population of Jakarta. When compared with the situation six months ago, this increase is still relatively small, where the increase in the number of poor people was 0.16 percent. Deflation in the foodstuffs group of -0.495 percent helped ease the burden of consumption expenditure. On the other hand, the various social assistance provided by the Central Government and the Provincial Government contributed to maintaining the stability of consumption of the poor and near-poor.
